Press Release

Local Photographer’s Work Goes to International Exhibition

Two images, titled ‘Coastal Sunrise’ & ‘Shiner’, created by local professional photographer Kathy Weigand, of Kathy Weigand Photography, have both recently been awarded PPA Print Competition Merits by a panel of eminent jurors from across the United States, and were accepted into the GeneralCollection of Professional Photographers of America’s 2012 International Photographic Competition.

The images will be on display at the Georgia World Congress Center, January 20-22, 2013, in Atlanta, Ga.

This International Photographic Exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers and several photographic associations.

Weigand’s two prints will be in the International Photographic Exhibition alongside other top photographic works from the competition, as well as traveling and other special invitational displays. These images constitute one of the world’s largest annual exhibits of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.

The PPA Print Merits earned will be applied towards earning the prestigious PPA Master of Photography (M.Photog.)
Degree, which is awarded for superior photographic skills—demonstrated through the PPA International Photographic Competition, advanced education, and service to the industry.

Kathy Weigand, owner of Hill Country Images tm, specializes in family & children portraits here in the Texas Hill Country, and also carries a selection of Texas Hill Country and Western style images for business décor, advertising, and marketing.
